  • Senior Internal Auditor

Step into a high-impact Senior Internal Auditor role where you’ll gain broad exposure across the business, work closely with leadership, and directly influence the strength of the company’s control environment. This is an excellent opportunity for auditors coming from public accounting or internal audit who want to deepen their SOX and controls experience in a hands-on, non-IT setting.

    About the Role:

As a Senior Internal Auditor, you will lead and execute financial and operational audits, with a strong emphasis on SOX compliance and internal controls. You will assess risk, evaluate processes, and provide actionable recommendations that enhance control effectiveness and operational efficiency. Your work will support informed decision-making and help safeguard the organisation’s assets and financial integrity.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Plan, execute, and report on financial and operational audits, including SOX testing, in accordance with professional standards and internal methodologies
    • Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting and key business processes
    • Identify financial, operational, and compliance risks, and develop practical recommendations to mitigate those risks
    • Prepare clear, concise audit workpapers and reports that communicate findings, root causes, and agreed action plans to management
    • Partner with process owners to understand business operations, clarify issues, and support the implementation of corrective actions
    • Manage multiple audits and projects simultaneously, ensuring work is completed on time and within scope
    • Monitor progress on remediation activities and perform follow-up reviews to confirm that corrective actions have been effectively implemented
    • Support continuous improvement of audit methodologies, tools, and processes within the internal audit function

    Key Requirements:

    • 2–4 years of audit experience in public accounting and/or internal audit
    • Hands-on SOX and internal controls experience, including testing and documentation
    • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and auditing standards
    • Proven ability to identify financial and operational risks and assess control effectiveness
    • Demonstrated analytical and critical-thinking skills with attention to detail and sound professional judgement
    • Ability to manage multiple audits/projects and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings to stakeholders at various levels
    • Comfortable with approximately 20% travel throughout the U.S., with occasional travel to Canada and Mexico
    • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship

    Desirable Skills:

    • Experience auditing within a corporate internal audit function
    • Exposure to multinational or multi-entity environments
    • Familiarity with data analytics tools or techniques to enhance audit procedures
    • Experience with process improvement or control optimisation initiatives

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
    • CPA and/or CIA certification preferred
    • Additional relevant certifications (e.g., CISA, CFE) considered a plus

If you are a motivated auditor seeking a direct-hire opportunity where your work will be visible, valued, and impactful, we encourage you to apply.
